Woman crashes into tree, identifies herself with credit card and is charged with DUI

57-year-old Carolyn Winstead-Vachon was charged with implied consent and driving under the influence when the vehicle she was driving left the roadway and impacted a tree. Officers also found six beer bottle caps on her person.

On May 23rd, Nashville Metro Officers were called to a car crash. Carolyn Winstead-Vachon’s vehicle had departed the roadway and impacted a tree. According to the affidavit, when Carolyn was asked for her identification she supplied the officer with a credit card.

Typical signs of impairment such as smell of adult beverages, slurred speech and physical stumbling were observed by the authorities. Carolyn did not fair well on sobriety examination and was unable to supply a sufficient sample for a breath test. Officers also noted 6 suspected beer bottle caps on her person.

Carolyn Winstead-Vachon was arrested and charged with implied consent and driving under the influence. She was later freed on pre-trial release.
