Antioch man asks victim to drop charges via Facebook, charged with contempt

40-year-old Samer Al Hameed was charged with contempt for violating bond conditions and order of protection violation when he was reported by his ex-girlfriend for contacting her through Facebook asking her to drop assault charges.

On July 21st, 2019, Ashley Lunn called authorities to report that Samer Al Hameed had attacked her. According to one affidavit, Lunn told officers Al Hameed was under the influence of substances and had called her names, bit her bicep, and elbowed her in the face. Officers noted she sustained an injury to support the account and medics suspected her nose had been broken.

Between April 19th and April 22nd, 2020, Al Hameed has been contacting Lunn through Facebook. According to other affidavits, he has asked Lunn to drop the charges and sent a video of himself driving. This violates the conditions of his bond as well as the order of protection against him.

On June 4th, 2020, Samer Al Hameed was arrested and charged with violating his conditions of release and violating a no-contact order. His bond was set at $15,000.
