22-year-old Jd Morris was charged with two counts evading, especially aggravated kidnapping, failure to report, carjacking, leaving the scene, no driver’s license, and failure to give aid after he carjacked a man and stole the vehicle when the victim bailed. He led officers on a high-speed chase until wrecking into another car.
On May 29th, Metro Nashville North Precinct B officers were signaled for help by an individual from the median of Rosa L. Parks Boulevard. According to affidavits, Jason Veal told them he stopped to utilize a latrine at a fuel station on West Trinity Lane near Brick Church Pike. When he returned to his car, Jd Morris climbed into his passenger seat pointing a gun him and informed Mr. Veal he was robbing him and demanded him to drive. After taking some direction from Morris, Mr. Veal noticed an MNPD squad car and bailed from his car to seek help.
Morris then moved to the driver’s seat and fled, soon after the vehicle was spotted at West Trinity and White’s Creek Pike. Refusing to halt, Morris led officers on a high-speed chase which ended when he wrecked into another vehicle near Conference Drive and Vietnam Veteran’s Parkway. After a brief foot chase, Jd Morris was positively identified by Mr. Veal and determined to have been driving without a license. One occupant in the vehicle Morris collided with was transported and treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
Jd Morris was charged with two counts of evading arrest, especially aggravated kidnapping, failure to report an accident with injury, carjacking, leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, no driver’s license, and failure to give information/aid. He is jailed in lieu of a $65,000 bond.
