32-year-old Daoloa Brown was charged with three counts of assault on an officer, one count of domestic assault, and resisting arrest after he threw a pair of headphones at his girlfriend during a dispute and allegedly struck two officers while being detained.

On June 9th, Officers Beery, Kozen, and Hemminger received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at 516 S 6th St in Nashville. Upon arrival, officers met with Elizabeth Murphy, who informed officers that she and boyfriend Daoloa Brown had been involved in a dispute regarding Brown speaking with other women. After a verbal altercation ensued between the two due to the claim, Brown exited the premises. Murphy proceeded to close the door, to which Brown responded to by pushing the door’s window out of place in order to continue the argument. Murphy claims that Brown then threw headphones at her, striking her in the face. According to the affidavit, Brown also pulled Murphy’s hair. Following a brief brawl between the couple, Murphy was able to free herself and contact law enforcement.

Law enforcement then attempted to place Brown into custody, telling the man to stand up and put his hands behind his back. Brown resisted this by flailing his arms at officers and pulling away. Brown’s flailing reportedly resulted in an elbow to the head of officer Kozen. Brown proceeded to make attempts at striking all three officers with a closed fist, landing a punch on the right arm of officer Beery. Law enforcement aided Brown to the ground and placed the man into custody for domestic assault, three counts of assault and resisting arrest.

Daoloa Brown was arrested and charged with two counts of assault on an officer, domestic assault, and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $10,500.
