27-year-old Zoey Stabbs was charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and vandalism after she ripped off her ex-boyfriend’s clothes and scratched him after an argument. When he tried to escape, she threw a drink at his car, threatened to put sugar in his gas tank, scratched his car with a knife, and poured chili sauce on him.

On June 6th, close to 11 pm at 521 Raleigh Drive officers arrived in response to a domestic call when they found the victim, Braulio Anguiano Arevalo, covered in chili sauce. He told police that his ex-girlfriend Zoey Stabbs came home from being with her friends and began arguing. Stabbs went on to scratch his neck while wrapping her hands around it, he said, but she didn’t cause him to lose consciousness.

In response, he exclaimed that he pushed her off of him which resulted in a small scratch on her chest and ripped her shirt a little bit. As an attempt to escape, he locked himself in his vehicle so she threw her drink at it, scratched it with a knife, threatened to pour sugar into the gas tank, and poured chili sauce on him after he got out of the vehicle.

She admitted to throwing her drink at him, and police observed a knife in the yard as well as damage to Arevalo’s neck. Two family witnesses said that they saw Stabbs hitting Arevalo, which made her the primary aggressor.

Zoey Stabbs was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and vandalism. Her bond was set at $3,500.
