Goodlettsville man accuses father of assault after failing to take medication

23-year-old Jose Zepeda was charged with domestic assault on his father after failing to take prescribed mental health medication. Zepeda initially claimed that his father assaulted him, but it was later determined that it was caused in self-defense.

On June 1st, Officer Zugelder received a call regarding a domestic assault at 115 Draper Dr. Upon arrival, officers met with Jose Zepeda who claimed that his father assaulted him. Zugelder proceeded to interview the father and a witness who informed officers that Zepeda is on prescribed mental health medication.

According to the affidavit, Zepeda had failed to take the medicine, creating an outburst for seemingly no reason. The father was then charged at by his son, leading to notable injuries to his neck area. Officers did note a minor injury to Zepeda’s wrist, but it was later concluded that it was in the father’s defense. Zugelder decided to take Zepeda into custody for being the primary aggressor in the domestic assault.

Jose Zepeda was arrested and charged with domestic assault. His bond was set at $1,500.
