According to the affidavit, Malone became upset when he was denied the ability to drive Rutland’s vehicle, responding to this by striking the woman in the face. The punch left Rutland unconscious for a perceived 10 minutes, per report.

Rutland felt extreme abdominal pain when coming to her senses. The stomach pain was presumably from Malone continuously striking Rutland following her loss of consciousness. Injuries were sustained to Rutland’s facial region, of which photos were taken by law enforcement and placed into evidence.

On June 23rd, Christopher Malone was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $25,000.
