24-year-old Jolly Hurtado was charged with grabbing a woman’s crotch while at Nashville Underground and then was confronted by the woman’s husband who Hurtado tried to hit but several people got in between them, per report.
On March 2nd, 2019 police arrived at Nashville Underground (105 Broadway) in response to a sexual assault. The husband, Jonathon Brown, of the victim, Kalyn Brown, called and said that he witnessed the defendant, Jolly Hurtado, grabbing his wife by her crotch. Kalyn said that as she was walking through the establishment she felt an unknown man grab her vagina and she described Hurtado as the closest one to her during that time. She did say that she did not see exactly who grabbed her when it happened.
He then grabbed Hurtado by the arm as he walked by and the two of them started exchanging words, as they were being separated Hurtado grabbed Jonathon by the arm. Jonathon pushed Hurtado away but Hurtado swung in an attempt to strike Jonathon and missed. Many people get in between them to stop the fight.
Hurtado walked by later and knocked Jonathon’s hat off of his head. Police obtained video footage from surveillance cameras that Nashville Underground had that showed Hurtado grabbing towards Kalyn’s buttocks area and then Jonathon immediately grabbed him.
On June 2nd, 2020, Jolly Hurtado was arrested and charged with sexual battery and assault. His bond was set at $4,500.
