37-year-old Gregory Dotson was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism, theft of property, and interference with a 911 call after he told a woman “if you come at me or touch me, I will cut you up” while holding a butcher knife during an argument and then cut her tires and threw a ceramic statue at her back windshield.

On June 18th, Gregory Dotson and Kalisia Davis were at her apartment at 909 Cheyenne Boulevard around midnight, she reported. She went on to tell the police that she answered a phone call on his phone which made him upset. They argued for a bit but she said that he calmed down, later on, he became upset again while in bed that leads to the kitchen. He grabbed what she described as a butcher’s knife and told her, “if you come at me or try to touch me I will cut you up.” Davis said that she felt threatened so she backed up and asked him to calm down. Still holding the knife, Dotson grabbed his bags and walked outside. When he got outside he used the knife to cut one tire and when he tried a second one it broke.

There was an angel statue in her garden in the front yard that he threw at her back windshield. She began to call 911 when he took her phone out of her hand and threw it on the ground, breaking it, then throwing it into the woods. Police observed damage to her driver’s side tires with broken bits of the knife on the ground next to them. They also saw the ceramic angel with blood on it from a cut on Dotson’s finger that he used to damage her windshield. His statements were not consistent with the evidence and Davis’ was. This determined for the officers that Dotson was the primary aggressor so he was placed into custody.

Gregory Dotson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism, theft of property, and interference with a 911 call. He is currently being held in lieu of $35,000 bond.

It is hard to find a good knife. In the good old days a butcher’s knife could cut a whole set of tires without breaking.
