28-year-old Kedan Desvignes was charged with assault, evading arrest, and contraband in a penal facility after he allegedly open hand slapped his girlfriend in the mouth and busted her lip for telling him to shut up and then ran from police.
On June 3rd, at McDonald’s (5301 Hickory Hollow Lane) police received a domestic dispute call. They arrived and spoke to the victim, Dorsa Karimi, who said that she and the defendant, her boyfriend, Kedan Desvignes, were arguing and he hit her in the mouth with an open hand after she told him to shut up. Police reported that they observed her having a busted upper lip. While interviewing Karimi, Desvignes walked back into McDonald’s with his son in his arms.
He told police that they were snatching his cell phone back and forth when he accidentally hit her in the mouth by grabbing the phone back. After interviewing them both police asked Desvignes to place his son on the ground and put his hands behind his back to be placed under arrest. Desvignes asked why, and when they told him that he was under arrest he placed his son down and ran away from the police. They caught up to him about one-hundred yards away and detained him. They found marijuana in his pocket while he was in holding.
Kedan Desvignes was arrested and charged for domestic assault, evading arrest, and contraband in a penal institution. His bond was set at $8,000.
