Officer Landrum noted that when he turned his lights on to halt the vessel Perrine passed the can in his hand to a passenger who was already holding a can. Perrine was noticeably intoxicated and admitted, in slurred speech, to drinking three white claws. Officer Landrum observed Perrine struggling to don a life jacket and advised he performed poorly on sobriety tasks.
Chris Perrine was arrested and charged with boating under the influence. He was later freed on pre-trial release.
