Quarrel at Beer Sellar results in assaulted roommate

31-year-old Matthew Broome was charged with domestic assault after an altercation with his brother at the Beer Sellar resulted in shoving his roommate, Amber Sauls, to the ground when attempting to separate the two.

On May 21st, officers received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at the Beer Sellar Bar located on 107 Church Street. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with Amber Sauls, who informed officers that she was drinking with her roommate, Matthew Broome. According to the affidavit, Broome was involved in an argument with his brother while at the bar. Beer Sellar staff eventually removed both brothers from the premises due to their quarreling.

Once outside, the two brothers reportedly began to fight. Sauls attempted to separate both parties from their brawl, to which Broome responded by shoving her to the ground. The push caused an abrasion on Saul’s right knee.

On June 8th, Matthew Broome was arrested and charged with domestic assault. His bond was set at $1,000.
