Zaxby’s employee attempts to stab coworker with kitchen knife

18-year-old Kionna Clark was charged with aggravated assault after attempting to thrust a 12-inch kitchen knife into a coworker at a Watkins Park Zaxby’s restaurant. Clark later stated to police that, if she were given the chance, she would have stabbed the man.

On June 25th, officers were dispatched to the Zaxby’s located on 1902 Charlotte Ave for an individual reportedly wielding a weapon. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with Donovias Sweatt Jr, who informed officers that himself and coworker Kionna Clark had been involved in a verbal altercation. During the dispute, Clark allegedly took hold of a 12-inch kitchen knife in attempts to stab Sweatt Jr.

The coworker was placed in fear for his life from the attack, per report. An eyewitness account alongside video surveillance confirmed Sweatt Jr’s statement. According to video surveillance, Clark made several attempts to stab her coworker, being forcibly held back by various people inside the business to prevent injury.

Clark later confessed to brandishing the knife and thrusting it towards Sweatt Jr. The woman claimed to have stated “I’mma cut you up” during the incident. The woman later freely stated to law enforcement “If I could’ve, I would’ve stabbed him.”

Kionna Clark was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $15,000.
