Chief of Staff to POTUS advisor charged with 3rd DUI at The Goat in Mt. Juliet

36-year-old Randi Butler was charged with her third driving under the influence when authorities found her unresponsive behind the wheel of a running vehicle at The Goat. Butler’s social media show she’s the Chief of Staff for Reagan/Trump advisor Arthur Laffer.

On July 17th, an officer patrolling near The Goat Restaurant at 1127 Westwood Boulevard noticed a vehicle running, with the lights on and the driver was not responsive. According to the affidavit, the officer spent 10 minutes trying to wake Randi Butler, who reeked of intoxicant.

The officer noted Butler advised she had taken anti-depressants and imbibed alcohol. Butler did not fair well on sobriety tasks and it was discovered she had previous DUIs in Sumner and Davidson Counties.

Randi Butler’s Linkedin and Twitter accounts have her listed as the Chief of Staff for American Legislative Exchange Counsel (ALEC) cohort Arthur Laffer, PhD. Laffer is a long time Washington economic advisor and consultant who served people such as George Shultz and Donald Rumsfield and was even an advisor to Presidents Reagan and Trump. Butler was present when Laffer was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Donald Trump, at the White House in 2019.

Randi Butler was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Her bond was set at $3,500 with conditions.
