Man attempts to fight officers and medic at Parthenon Towers

59-year-old Donald Bennett was charged with public intoxication, assault of a healthcare provider, and disorderly conduct after being observed in a brawl outside the Parthenon Towers Apartments. Bennett later kicked a Nashville Fire Department medic upon examination, per report.

On June 28th, officers received a call regarding a disorderly subject at the Parthenon Towers located on 301 28th Ave N. Upon arrival, law enforcement observed a fight occurring outside the apartment building. The parties involved in the altercation refused assistance from the officers. While conversing with one of the parties involved, blood was noticed on the forehead of Donald Bennett.

Law enforcement offered to provide medical assistance to Bennett, who continued in attempts to fight individuals, including residents of the complex. According to the affidavit, Bennett was noted to be stumbling throughout the incident and emitted a strong scent of alcohol from his person.

Bennett turned hostile upon medical personnel’s arrival to the scene, reportedly attempting to fight medics and officers alike. James Gilmore, a medic for the Nashville Fire Department, began a medical examination of Bennett, who responded by kicking Gilmore. Officers proceeded to apprehend Bennett for the assault of Gilmore. The man was transported to Centennial Hospital for medical examination.

Donald Bennett was arrested and charged with public intoxication, assault of a healthcare provider, and disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $2,700.
