Nashville man grabs and throws chair at wife over tossed out birthday cake

40-year-old Rossel Posas-Melgar was charged with domestic assault when he grabbed his wife by the arms and threw a chair at her because she threw out some leftover birthday cake.

On July 26th, police arrived at 2517 Mossdale Drive and spoke to Blanca Acosta- Aguillar, who reported that she was involved in an argument with her husband, Rossel Posas-Melgar, about her throwing way leftover birthday cake.

Rossel became angry and grabbed Blanca by her arms, leaving bruises and fingernail cuts in her arms. When she began pulling away, it caused her right arm and elbow to be scratched up and bruised. After she broke free she told police that he threw a chair at her which she was able to catch. They have two daughters who stated that they did not see the whole incident but heard the arguing and saw Rossel grab Blanca’s arm.

He left the scene before police arrived, but came back while they were there and told them that they argued but there was no physical altercation. When they asked him about the scratches on his arms that he sustained during the incident, he said that he got them from grilling earlier that day.

Rossel Posas-Melgar was arrested and charged with domestic assault. His bond was set at $2,500.
