34-year-old Brooke Wright was charged with vandalism, domestic assault, and assault of an officer after she was involved in an altercation with her father and while being placed into custody, she pressed a lit cigarette onto the leg of the officer and struck them with a soda bottle, per report.
On July 11th, Officer Zunic received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at 644 Denver Dr. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with John Sarno, who informed officers that he and his daughter were involved in a dispute. According to the affidavit, Brooke Wright had recently returned to live in the residence and began to repeatedly yell while inside the home. Wright was told to stop screaming by Sarno, which the woman responded to by shoving the man against a wall and telling him to shut up. The impact of the push caused Sarno to drop his coffee mug and suffer injuries to his stomach. Law enforcement observed multiple bruises to the stomach of Sarno, per report. The man’s wife was present during the incident and provided an eyewitness account of the dispute.
Officers determined Wright to be the primary assailant during the altercation and proceeded in attempts to place her into custody. Wright then obtained a lit cigarette and a soda bottle, striking Officer Zunic on the head with the bottle. She additionally pressed the lit cigarette on Zunic’s thigh, resulting in burn marks for the officer’s pants.
Brooke Wright was arrested and charged with vandalism, domestic assault, and assault of an officer. Her bond was set at $2,500.
