Nashville woman throws, shatters vase during assault on son-in-law

53-year-old Michelle Gunn was charged with aggravated assault after hurling a vase at her son-in-law during a dispute about the man smoking marijuana inside the residence. The impact of the throw was reportedly powerful enough to shatter the piece of porcelain and left an observable injury on the man’s stomach.

On June 15th, officers were dispatched to 3522 Seneca Forest Dr in regards to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with Jerry Campbell, who informed officers that he had come to the address to have a discussion with Michelle Gunn. Gunn had become upset at Campbell for allegedly smoking marijuana inside the shared residence. The two became involved in a verbal altercation shortly thereafter, resulting in Gunn separating herself from the dispute.

According to the affidavit, Gunn returned to Campbell’s location, obtained a vase, and threw it at the man. The throw struck Campbell on the stomach, per report. Law enforcement observed an injury to the stomach of Campbell, as well as the thrown vase shattered from the attack.

Michelle Gunn was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $3,500.

    What a waste of police resources. We need a volunteer civilian trailer trash patrol to deal with such.
