Woman wakes up to neighbor with a knife in her home and five credit cards missing

20-year-old Aaron Rooks was charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property when his neighbor woke up to find him in her home holding a butcher knife. When he left, she discovered that five of her credit cards were missing.

On July 21st, the victim, Tamisha McDonald, spoke told that she was the victim of a burglary at her residence located at 260 Dellway Villa Road. She stated that she awoke to find her neighbor, the defendant, Aaron Rooks, in her home without permission carrying a knife.

When she told him to leave, he did. She found that five of her credit cards were missing so she followed him outside. He came back to her after she called to him while he was crossing the courtyard and asked if he took her credit cards. After he denied taking them he explained to her that he noticed her front door was open, so he brought a knife in case someone was actively burgling her house. Police investigated the area where Rooks was in the courtyard before McDonald spoke to him and found all five missing credit cards. They were all returned to her.

Aaron Rooks was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property. His bond was set at $15,000.
