40-year-old Joe Featherstone was charged with aggravated assault when he lost it on his wife after a dispute about not talking to his friends in prison.

On August 17th, officers arrived at 5136 Pritchett Drive in response to a domestic disturbance where an involved party was armed with a knife. Hollie Featherstone and her two children were at the scene. Hollie said the incident started after Joe Featherstone got off the phone with a friend from prison. Hollie made the suggestion that it might not be the best idea to be in contact with people from his past, and Joe became irate and got in her face. Joe went into the kitchen and Hollie ran and locked herself in her bedroom.

Hollie’s daughter explained that Joe pushed Hollie out of a chair at the dinner table, and when she tried to get him away he shoved her onto the couch. She continued by saying Joe slapped her mom several times and squeezed her neck with both of his hands. Her son corroborated the story, and officers observed fixtures and mess in the house correlating with the claimed incident. Marks on Hollie’s body were also congruent with the stories of the children. Joe was identified as the primary aggressor and taken into custody.

Joe Featherstone was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. His bond was set at $10,000.
