26-year-old felon Jalin Vinsang was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm when he pointed a gun at random people and cars at an intersection.
On August 13th, Metro Police was called to the intersection of Bell Rd and Elm Hill Pike where a man wearing a red bandana and all-black clothing, later identified as Jalin Vinsang, was pointing a handgun at multiple vehicles and people. Bethany Davis and her juvenile daughter were traveling north when Vinsang walked into the intersection and began his escapade, and he reportedly walked toward their vehicle and pointed his gun at both individually. They described him as “holding the handgun sideways with his right hand, and holding his pants up with his left hand.”
When the police arrived, they found and began talking to Vinsang. He openly admitted to having a handgun in his front right pocket and surrendered to police without a fight. Vinsang provided his own personal information, and police found that he had a previous felony charge.
Jalin Vinsang was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $35,000.
