33-year-old Brook Hildreth was charged with driving under the influence after stumbling, swaying, and failing sobriety testing during a motor vehicle accident investigation on I-24 West.
On August 11th, officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 24 West near MM 47 for a suspected driver under the influence. Officers stated that Brook Hildreth was unstable on his feet and had to use the vehicle for stability when exiting. He was waiting on the hood of the patrol car when he was asked and consented to field sobriety testing, and when he stood up for the test he started swaying again.
Hildreth was asked to remove his hat for the horizontal gaze nystagmus, and it was noted he had watery eyes and dilated pupils. He was unable to complete the field testing to standards. Hildreth was placed in custody and refused to consent any further. A warrant was granted for a blood draw and he was taken to Meharry General where the blood draw was done.
Brook Hildreth was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. He was later freed on pre-trial release.
