40-year-old Charmandoe Taylor was charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon after threatening the mother and his child with a knife and stealing her purse.
On August 2nd, police were dispatched to 522 Sylvan Street following a call placed to 911 to report a robbery. After arriving at the scene, officers spoke to Jasmine Mitchell, who advised officers that she had been out in town with her friend, Natalya Minnis. She left her children with their father Charmandoe Taylor in their absence. Mitchell stated that he had sent her several threatening text messages in the time they were gone, so she returned early to verify the well being of her children. After returning to the home, Mitchell and Taylor got into an argument about the contents of the texts.
The verbal altercation became physical after Taylor shoved Mitchell and retrieved a kitchen knife. He then began to threaten her while she held their child in her arms, placing the child in direct danger. Mitchell advised that Taylor yanked her purse off her shoulder with $800 in cash inside, her TN driver’s license, social security card, two debit cards, and food stamps inside. Taylor then fled the property on foot. Minnis advised police that she was present during the entire incident and corroborated Mitchell’s statement.
On August 12th, Charmandoe Taylor was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and aggravated robbery. His bond was set at $100,000.
