44-year-old Jammie Cosby was charged with domestic and aggravated assault by strangulation after getting physical with the mother of his son and their minor child when the boy tried to help his mother.
On August 20th, Metro Nashville Officers responded to 612 Heron Pointe Drive where Jammie Cosby and Nicole Hayden live with their minor son. Hayden explained to officers that her boyfriend, Cosby, had assaulted her on August 16th. She said they had been arguing when he got physical with her. Cosby grabbed Hayden by her neck, applied pressure, and threw her to the ground. He then mounted her while she was on the ground and attempted to strangle her with both hands.
They woke up their minor son, who came into the room and tried to help his mother. He jumped onto Cosby’s back who then stood up and threw the child to the ground. He then went on to throw Hayden against the walls of the apartment. Hayden had multiple bruises and scratches on her arms. She also claimed to have difficulties breathing without losing consciousness.
Jammie Cosby was arrested and charged with domestic assault and aggravated assault via strangulation. He remains jailed in lieu of a $30,000.
