38-year-old Richard Baxter was charged with aggravated assault and he violated an order of protection when he became irate towards a woman and bit her in a hotel room while he was looking for his phone and wallet.

On August 10th, police found Richard Baxter on Rivergate Parkway matching the description of wearing all grey and black Nike shoes from a dispatch call for a domestic in progress. According to the affidavit, Richard Baxter and Melissa Parrington are known to the officer from a prior domestic dispute. Richard smelled of alcohol when the police arrived, which violated his bond conditions from that previous arrest.

When they made contact with Parrington she said that she was staying with Richard at the Rest Haven Motel located at 315 South Main Street. She stated that he came into the room without any warning and asked her for his wallet and phone. When she told him she had no idea where it was, he became angry and started cussing at her. He then flipped the mattress that she was on and bit her leg. His order of protection states that he is not to harass, assault, threaten, or abuse her.

Richard Baxter was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, order of protection violation, and violating his conditions of release. His bond was set at $20,000.
