Nashville man charged with felony theft for taking $2.95 in sausage from Walmart

37-year-old Eric Nelson was charged with his 5th theft of merchandise offense when he was caught trying to leave the Walmart on Dickerson Pike with a $2.95 package of sausage.

On July 31st, Eric Nelson was observed holding a package of sausage at Walmart on Dickerson Pike that cost $2.95 and tried to leave without paying for it.

After he passed all points of sale and attempted to exit the building, loss prevention stopped him. The security camera footage caught the whole incident on tape. The officer reported they could not issue a state misdemeanor due to an FTA and four FTBs he has accumulated over the course of the last five years.

Eric Nelson was arrested and charged with his fifth theft of merchandise offense. His bond was set at $5,000.
