18-year-old Selena Williams was charged with carjacking and evading arrest after participating in a carjacking near Bonerwood Drive while there was already an active Davidson County warrant for her arrest.

On June 13th, an officer was attempting to detain a runaway juvenile when the driver, Selena Williams, evaded arrest. The officer had an arm on the passenger rear window when she locked the doors and sped off, knowing the officer’s hand was on the window. On August 12th, Idonia Pineda was carjacked near Bonerwood Drive and Northcrest Drive. A man got out of a white four-door sedan and approached Pineda in her vehicle behind them. The man violently pulled her out of the car and threw her to the ground. He got in her silver Honda CRV and followed the other vehicle, which Pineda believed to have two black females inside. Later the same day a white Lexus was pulled over at 97 Wallace Road because the male driver was known to have an outstanding warrant in Davidson County.

There were three females in the vehicle and one of them, Selena Williams, had an unrelated warrant in Davidson County. The keys to the CRV were found in the Lexus. The CRV itself was found in the parking lot of the Knights Inn at 1111 Bell Rd, where video evidence shows both vehicles arriving together and Williams getting out of the Lexus. Williams waived her rights and admitted she was the Lexus driver at the time of the carjacking. Her explanation of events matched Pineda’s.

Selena Williams was arrested and charged with evading arrest and carjacking. Her bond was set at $2,500.
