59-year-old Brenda Hoggett Fleming was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism when she rammed the back of the victim’s vehicle and then slashed one of his tires with a large knife.
On May 31st, complainant Zimri Wilson spoke to police when they arrived at 73 Maury Street who said he was helping his friend Lorene Weakley earlier that day. Weakley is Brenda Hoggett Fleming’s ex-girlfriend. Wilson was helping her move out and took Weakley to work.
He stated that when he was heading home after dropping her off Brenda began following behind him in her vehicle and began ramming him. After she did this, he stated that he pulled over and stopped the vehicle. She followed by exiting her vehicle while brandishing a large knife. She was able to puncture one of his tires then began cursing at him before getting back into her vehicle and leaving.
On August 3rd, Brenda Hoggett Fleming was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism. Her bond was set at $35,000.
