39-year-old Adam Trubee was charged with a felony drug offense, felony reckless endangerment, paraphernalia, felon in possession of a weapon after telling officers he fired a handgun in the street with 8.8 grams of meth and a syringe in his pocket.
On August 28th, Metro Nashville Officers responded to SpringHill Suites at 250 Athens Way in regards to a man, Adam Trubee, firing a handgun five to six times in the middle of the street. The person who called 911 mentioned the man had thrown the handgun into nearby bushes, but they found it and took it inside for the officers. Immediately upon arrival, Officer Conners retrieved the handgun from the person who made the 911 call. Meanwhile, Officer Krispin was able to locate Trubee near 45 Vantage Way.
The officer detained Trubee and asked him if there was anything on him that the officer should be aware of. Trubee admitted he had “some meth” on him, so the officer conducted a probable cause search which resulted in 8.8 grams of methamphetamine and a syringe. Due to the quantity, officers determined it was not just for personal use. Trubee waived his Miranda rights and told the officers that he bought the firearm and meth earlier that day.
He said that he doesn’t do drugs and has never had a drug charge in his life. Trubee admitted he was the person firing the gun near Rosa L. Parks Boulevard because he “is upset how is life is going.” He also told officers that he was convicted of a felony in 2005 for felony aggravated burglary in Ohio. The person who called 911 said that Trubee fired at least one shot at a vehicle driving by causing it to swerve.
Adam Trubee was arrested and charged with a felony drug offense, felony reckless endangerment, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and felon in possession of a weapon. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $31,000 bond.
