Fugitive Nashville man accused of murder, robbery & shooting into crowd; finally jailed

22-year-old Wesley Croichy was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism after he and a Thomas Mitchell began firing upon a crowd after two women were fighting.

On November 18th, 2018, a little after 10:00 p.m. at 2400 Buena Vista Pike Timesha Witherspoon was visiting her friend Courtnesha Williams. Thomas Mitchell, Jada Johnson, and Wesley Croichy showed up at the residence, and Jada and Timesha fought with many onlookers watching.

Thomas has a child with Timesha and Jada was his current girlfriend. During the fight, Courtnesha attempted to separate the women but Thomas threatened her by shoving a gun into her side. From his position, a few feet back from the fight, Wesley Croichy began to fire his weapon toward the crowd prompting Thomas to fire as well. Amidst the gunfire two bullets struck Courtnesha William’s house. Wesley Croichy fled on foot and Jada Johnson and Thomas Mitchell left the scene in the vehicle. The entire incident was caught on video.

On September 3rd, MNPD released this statement about Croichy’s arrest:

Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force Wednesday afternoon apprehended accused Nashville murderer Wesley Croichy Jr., 22, at an apartment complex on Rio Vista Drive in Madison.

When law enforcement approached Croichy in the parking lot, he fled into an apartment and then jumped through a window in an attempt to get away. He was quickly apprehended. During the arrest, Croichy head-butted a member of the Task Force, leading to an additional charge of assault against an officer.

Croichy is under indictment on charges of first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery for the July 26th shooting death of Treshaun David, 20, in the 2300 block of 25th Avenue North. Croichy and co-defendant Devonte Sherley, 23, were subsequently identified as the two men responsible for shooting David while robbing him. Sherley was arrested for murder and robbery on July 27th.

Both Croichy and Sherley remain in the Metro Jail.

On September 2nd, Wesley Croichy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
