29-year-old Marquise Porter was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication after police observed him rolling around on the sidewalk screaming and spitting when they were responding to a possible shooting in the area.
On September 21st, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a possible shooting at 1806 15th Avenue North. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Marquise Porter who was lying down on the sidewalk rolling around.
Porter was screaming, cursing, and spitting but officers were able to confirm he was unharmed. Officers observed Porter was extremely intoxicated because he had slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet, and a strong odor of an intoxicant was emitting from his person. Nashville Fire attempted to take Porter to the hospital, but he continued to scream and flail his arms. He even tried to push one of the firefighters. Officers proceeded to take Porter into custody without incident.
Marquise Porter was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication. His bond was set at $1,000.
