Man determined to confront homeowners about alleged ‘rape’ enters home and destroys vehicle

41-year-old Charles Ballard was charged with aggravated burglary when a neighbor noticed him beat a vehicle and enter a home while the residents were away. Ballard told police that he was going to “find out who lives here.”

On September 24th, Metro Nashville Police were called to 735 Carlyle Place by a witness and neighbor, Morgan, who stated she saw a man, Charles Ballard enter a house when she knew no one was home. She also called dispatch when she saw him destroy a vehicle in the driveway, breaking the driver’s side window and windshield with a steel bar.

When Officer Thomas arrived, he noticed Ballard standing in the sider door with it open. He walked through the house and out the front door to speak with the officer. When asked if he lived there Ballard said that he did not, but he was going to “find out who lives here.” He told Officer Thomas that he came to the home to confront someone regarding rape, but refused to elaborate.

Charles Ballard was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
