42-year-old Trevor Hayes was charged with aggravated robbery when he pulled a handgun out of his pocket and threatened the owner of Better Market while he was being confronted about stealing a Colt 45.

On September 10th, Metro Nashville Police Officers responded to a report of an aggravated robbery located at 1705 Jenkins Street at Better Market. Officers made the scene and spoke with the owner of the store, Mena Mikhail, who advised that Trevor Hayes entered the store and took a Colt 45 alcoholic beverage from the cooler and walked out with the item. He stated that he went outside and confronted Trevor about the stolen item and that he pulled a small-caliber handgun out of his right pocket. Mikhail told officers that Trevor pointed the gun at him and insisted “I did not steal anything.”

When Mikhail attempted to take the drink back from him, Trevor struck him in the leg and fled onto Delta Avenue. Officers observed a small laceration on the owner’s knee. Mikhail allowed the police to watch any surveillance footage that may provide more information about the incident. The video evidence confirmed that Trevor left the store without paying for the beverage. However, officers were not able to clearly see the incident that occurred outside due to camera angles. Officers were able to catch up with Trevor on Delta Avenue near Cheatham Place. Mikhail was then transported to where officers located him for positive identification.

Trevor Hayes was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $50,000.
