20-year-old Christopher Lara was charged with aggravated robbery and possession of Xanax after a man called police and told them a Hispanic male with face tattoos had mugged him at knifepoint.

On September 19th, Metro Nashville Police Officer Kinsey responded to 1441 Lebanon Pike in reference to an aggravated robbery. An officer made contact with Muhammad Malik who stated he was out for a walk when he heard Christopher Lara yell at him asking if he “wanted to buy something.” Malik told police he continued walking but Lara approached from behind with a black knife in his hand and demanded his cellphone.

Malik proceeded to hand over his phone and Lara told him to turn around so he could not see Lara’s direction of flight. Malik complied until he heard Lara running and turned around to see Lara fleeing in the opposite direction before proceeding to run home and call the police. Malik described Lara to be a Hispanic male with a star tattoo under his left eye and various other face tattoos, wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. A male fitting this description was spotted walking to the bus stop at 1501 Lebanon Pike and Lara’s identity was confirmed by Malik during a “show-up”. When police searched Lara they found Malik’s cellphone, two knives, and a bag containing six Xanax.

Christopher Lara was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and possession of Xanax. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $52,000 bond.
