36-year-old Abdirham Hasanali was charged with aggravated assault after he punched, kicked, and smashed a 50-pound flower pot over a blind man’s head.
On September 23rd, Metro Nashville officers responded to a domestic-related aggravated assault at 4175 Bobwhite Drive. James Frazier and Abdirham Hasanali are roommates. When police arrived, they spoke with Frazier’s fiancee who witnessed the incident. She stated Hasanali was outside of the residence calling her racist names and cursing at her.
James Frazier, who is blind, came outside to tell him to stop. Hasanali proceeded to pick up a 50-pound clay flower pot and smash it over Frazier’s head. When he fell to the ground, Hasanali kicked and punch Frazier multiple times. Frazier was unable to answer questions because of the injuries he sustained. Medics transported him to the hospital to treat his injuries and check for any internal injuries. When police spoke with Hasanali, he admitted he had been drinking but said that he did not hit Frazier. Officers observed the shattered flower pot on the ground.
Abdirham Hasanali was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
