Man violates order of protection and steals MacBook from ex’s home

30-year-old Carlton Shelley was charged with theft of property and violation of his order of protection when he went to his ex-girlfriend’s house and stole her MacBook.

On August 25th, Nashville Metro Police responded to a domestic disturbance at 3060 Casa Drive. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Lea Sells, who advised that she contacted them in regards to her ex-boyfriend, Carlton Shelley, who came to her residence violating his order of protection. Lea stated that when she opened her door, Carlton walked in and stole her MacBook from her bedroom.

Lea was able to provide proof of purchase for the MacBook. Officers confirmed the order of protection with the Davidson County Sherriff’s Department. Officers were also dispatched to the residence earlier in the day regarding Carlton wanting to gather his belongings from the home. While officers were en route, it was confirmed that his one time had expired to collect his things.

On August 31st, Carlton Shelley was arrested and charged with theft of property and violating his order of protection. His bond was set at $6,500.
