28-year-old Cynthia “Maniac Muffin” Rencher was charged with an order of protection violation, aggravated burglary, and domestic assault after starting an argument and assaulting her mother over cigarettes.

On May 24th, Metro Nashville Police arrived at 104 7th Street in response to a call for service. Officers spoke with Airel Loftis who told police that her ex-girlfriend, Cynthia Rencher, came into her home and started a verbal argument with her. This violated the order of protection against Rencher, but officers could not prosecute based on a lack of evidence at the scene.

On May 28th, Detective Ester watched video camera recordings of the area around Loftis’ house. It showed two people, one suspected to be Rencher and another unknown party, at the home on the morning of May 24th. Based on the evidence in the videos it was determined that there was probable cause Rencher had violated the order of protection.

On June 20th, April Faust told authorities that Rencher had come to her residence because she thought her mother, Sharon Rencher, had her cigarettes. Faust told police that Rencher had forced her way inside by pushing open the screen door. Faust said that Rencher got physical with her and hit her. Rencher was said to have thrown garbage, thrown things on the floor, and breaking cookware and antiques. Rencher fought with her mother over her purse because she thought it contained her cigarettes. Rencher left the home without taking anything.

On September 18th, Cynthia was arrested and charged with an order of protection violation, aggravated burglary, and domestic assault. Her bond was set at $2,500.
