19-year-old Johna Foxx was charged with aggravated assault by strangulation when her girlfriend told officers she sat in her sister’s driveway for hours and when she went to talk, Foxx grabbed her by the throat and began striking her in the face.
On August 20th, officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 296 Mcgavock Pike. Upon arrival, officers spoke to Dominica Lewis who stated that she was staying at her sister’s residence to get time away from her girlfriend, Johna Foxx, whom she lived with.
Dominica reported that Johna showed up to the residence and refused to leave the driveway for several hours. Dominica went outside to speak with her when Johna began to yell at her. When Dominica began to walk back towards the house to get away from her, Johna grabbed her by her throat, causing her to have difficulty breathing. Dominica stated that Johna also struck her several times in the face. Officers observed scratches on Dominica’s throat, arms, and legs as well as a small laceration between her eyes. Dominica’s sister corroborated her story independently.
Both Johna Foxx and Dominica Lewis were arrested on August 30th.
Johna Foxx was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. Her bond was set at $15,000.
