When police tried to talk to the pair, the unknown individual ran away but Perkins stayed and was seen holding a pair of gloves. Perkins was detained, and a check of the vehicle’s plate revealed that it did not belong to Perkins. The owner, Lionel Fox, made it clear that no one had permission to go inside his vehicle. Perkins told police that he had tracked his phone to the area and was looking for it. Perkins also admitted to taking the gloves from inside the truck but did not tell anyone why. Perkins told officers he did not know the person he was walking with.

Quinton Perkins was arrested and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $5,000.
