25-year-old Cortney Murphy was charged with domestic assault after her boyfriend said she was chasing and hitting him because he poured out all the alcohol during an argument about her drinking.
On September 12th, Maurice Murphy told Metro Nashville Police officers that he and his girlfriend Cortney Murphy had been arguing because she was drinking. Mr. Murphy stated that he went into the kitchen and poured out all of the alcohol which made Cortney very angry and she began to yell and hit him.
Mr. Murphy ran outside and his girlfriend followed him and continued to hit him, multiple witnesses corroborated this account. Mr. Murphy ran back inside and shut the door. Officer Bennet noted observing an injury to Mr. Murphy’s left hand.
Cortney Murphy was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Her bond was set at $1,500.
