49-year-old Sarah Worsham was charged with domestic assault after she followed her boyfriend and hit him in the face repeatedly when he tried to leave her home and go to the MTA bus station.
On August 30th, officers were dispatched to the Metropolitan Transit Authority station located at 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Mark Davis and Sarah Worsham. Mark advised police that Sarah was his girlfriend and that he stayed at her home the previous night. He advised police they had been arguing that night and then went to sleep. Mark said that when he woke up that morning, she started the argument once again. He left the apartment, and Sarah Worsham began to follow him in her car. Mark stated that Sarah followed him until they reached Cleveland Street and Gallatin Pike, where she exited her vehicle and began to punch him in the face.
He explained to police that it felt as though she had her keys in her hand as she was punching him, which he believed caused a cut to the left side of his cheek and bruises to the right side of his face. Mark advised that he was able to get away from her and get on a bus. Sarah then followed the bus to the station and proceeded to argue with him once again. Officers witnessed the verbal altercation and spoke with Sarah separately. She advised officers that she had gone to the bus station to give him a ride to her home, and denied that there was ever a physical altercation. Officers noted in the affidavit that there were wounds to his face and determined Sarah Worsham to be the primary aggressor.
Sarah Worsham was charged with domestic assault. Her bond was set at $2,000.
