Mason went over to the AC and tried to pull it from the window while Mcelrath blocked her by standing in front of it. Mason pushed her to the ground and proceeded to strangle her. Mcelrath told the police that she was afraid of losing consciousness but her daughter and a mutual friend pulled Mason from her before she did. Both witnesses told officers that Mason was using both hands to strangle Mcelrath and she also sustained injuries to corroborate that.

Rodnea Mason was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. She is jailed in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
