Fugitive caught with drugs hanging from his neck

27-year-old Preston Jass was charged with possession of heroin, clonazepam, and alprazolam after officers identified him to have an active warrant and searched his person.

On October 19th, Metro Nashville Police Officers were dispatched to a McDonald’s at 906 Rivergate Parkway, in Goodlettsville, in response to a reported disorderly person. Upon arrival, Officer Poole observed a man she thought to be Preston Jass, who had active local warrants in Sumner County. Preston was detained until the warrants were confirmed and officers conducted a search.

Officer Morgan located two tiny plastic containers inside of a bag hung around his neck. Within one of the containers was a small bag containing a gray substance that Preston admitted was heroin. In the other container, they found ten clonazepam pills as well as one alprazolam pill. Preston was not able to supply a prescription for the medication.

Preston Jass was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, clonazepam, and alprazolam. On October 20th, he was found guilty on possession of heroin and alprazolam. The charge of possession of clonazepam was dismissed.
