21-year-old Lamya Gooch was charged with domestic assault after officers were called for an order of protection violation and she was found to have an active warrant from a separate incident in September.
On September 17, Nashville Metro Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance on 283 Dellway Villa Road at Fallbrook Apartments. Laquisha King told officers that she had gotten into an argument with Lamya Gooch. She stated that the argument initially started the evening prior because she let Gooch borrow her car and it was not returned at the expected time. Laquisha claimed that the next day, an hour before police were called, Gooch came over to the apartment to grab some things because she was moving out. Laquisha believed Gooch was still angry due to the events of the night prior and having to move out of the apartment.
She said Gooch attacked her from behind and punched her several times in the face and head. Officers detected a scratch on the left side of her face and a swollen lip. Laquisha told officers her head was hurting and she was examined by Medic 18before being transported to Skyline Hospital for her injuries. Laquisha’s friend, Latoya Smith, witnessed the assault. Gooch fled the scene and police were unable to locate her.
On October 8th, officers responded to a domestic disturbance at Village West Apartments on 4415 Tennessee Avenue. When they arrived, they noticed Lamya Gooch standing on top of the stairs near Antonio Carter’s apartment. They asked Gooch what was going on and she claimed that she was grabbing her stuff and leaving the apartment. Gooch was then identified by police to have an active warrant out, confirmed by the warrant division. Antonio Carter told police that he had an order of protection against Gooch, which was also verified. Gooch was apprehended without incident.
Lamya Gooch was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily injury as well as violating an order of protection. She was released on a $2,500 bond.
