30-year-old Tyler Donley was charged with aggravated kidnapping and robbery after a woman accused him of stealing her gun, refusing to return it, and not letting her exit the vehicle.
On October 11th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a call for obstruction of a roadway at 1212 Fernbank Drive. As police drove down the road, the vehicle in question was spotted on 1106 Gallatin Pike traveling south. When Tyler Donley saw the police he pulled into Toliver’s Jewelry And Loan located at 1106 Gallatin Pike.
Donley proceeded to exit his vehicle and was detained by the police. Shortly after Ashley Williams exited the vehicle, laid on the ground, and began to cry. Williams advised police she had been with Donley at a friend’s house hanging out when he asked to see her gun because he was thinking of getting one that was similar. When she showed Donley the weapon, he told her she was not getting it back and she needed to get out of the vehicle and attempted to forcibly push her out. She stated she wanted the gun back but he wouldn’t return it and proceeded to take off with her still in the vehicle. She requested multiple times to let her out, but he refused and began hitting her while they drove.
Williams advised police he stopped at his house to drop the gun off at his residence and she attempted to escape while he was inside. She said he came back while she was exiting the vehicle, where he then returned and grabbed her by her hair to force her back into the vehicle. A short time after this the police spotted the vehicle. Donley denied all allegations and stated he was just trying to get her out of his car. Donley gave officers permission to search the vehicle and his room at the halfway house he was staying at. Officers were unable to locate a weapon due to the fact they could only search his room at the residence, but Williams’ debit card was found in his pocket. Williams’ injuries were also consistent with her story.
Tyler Donley was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and robbery. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
