25-year-old Devin Mitchell was charged with multiple crimes including driving without a license and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after being pulled over for running a red light and having police discover an outstanding warrant.
On August 25th, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to 323 Harding Place in regard to a domestic incident. Kashara Daniels advised police her husband, Devin Mitchell, pulled a black semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at her. She stated she was leaving dinner with her boyfriend when Mitchell pulled up next to her vehicle in the area of Harding Place and Linbar Drive pointed the weapon at her yelling he was going to kill her. Daniels stated she proceeded to drive away and waited until she was safe and sure of the fact that Mitchell did not follow to call the police. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.
On October 7th, Metro Nashville Police officers witnessed a black Mustang run a red light on Briley Parkway at Vultee Boulevard. The officers pulled the vehicle over, ran the tags, and realized the tags on the vehicle did not belong to the Mustang. When officers made contact with Devin Mitchell in the driver’s seat they asked for his driver’s license, which he could not provide. They proceeded to ask him for any identifying information, but he said he did not remember his social and gave the name Brandyn Mitchell with a birthdate of December 12th, 1992. When searched in the system they found a driver’s license of a man that was deceased. Once Mitchell was in custody he admitted to giving the police the name of his deceased brother. He provided all of his real information and a search in the system revealed him to have an active warrant.
Devin Mitchell was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal impersonation, no driver’s license, and unlawful removal of tags. He was released on a $10,500 bond.
