30-year-old Ethan Scotchell was charged with possession of marijuana, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct after saying, “if it’s less than half an ounce of weed, they won’t even send it to a lab to test it.”

After they spoke to several witnesses, the tow truck driver was in the process of towing Scotchell’s vehicle. He rushed at the tow truck driver and attempted to punch him in the face. The tow truck driver was able to restrain him until police arrived. Once in police custody, they stated he had a smell a strong odor of alcohol, bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet.

The tow driver notified officers that he found two small stalks of marijuana inside the car. When officers told Scotchell they had found marijuana, he began to jokingly say, “if it’s less than half an ounce of weed, they won’t even send it to a lab to test it.” Officers also found that Scotchell had an outstanding warrant for failure to report for booking.

Ethan Scotchell was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. He also has since been charged with indecent exposure. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,100 bond.
