Man found leaving stolen car that “belongs to a friend”

46-year-old Charles Moore was charged with theft of property after police found him leaving a stolen vehicle that was being tracked by GPS.

On October 5th, officers were asked by the Clarksville Police Department to help them find a stolen vehicle that was reported to be in the parking lot of the Kwik Trip located at 608 Gallatin Pike North. When they arrived and identified the car, they had the dealership disable the car remotely. It was then they watched Charles leave the car and walk into the Tacos Y Mariscos located at 606 Gallatin Pike North.

When asked about the car, Charles told officers that it belonged to his friend and did not give any more information. Upon review of surveillance footage from a nearby store, officers saw Charles park the car and get out to purchase items from the Kwik Stop before ditching the keys in a nearby garbage can.

Charles Moore was arrested and charged with theft of property. He is currently in jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
