Man steals 3 chainsaws from work crew in broad daylight

28-year-old Robert Russell was charged with theft of property after he used his real name and identification to pawn stolen goods.

On August 11th, Quality Tree Surgery employees were working near 3807 Nolensville Pike when people across the street alerted them to a person stealing three chainsaws that were left on the ground nearby. Employees witnessed a person in a gray Chevy Silverado leave with the saws. Two hours later, a person that presented Tennessee Identification as Robert Russell pawned a chainsaw to Cash America at 4537 Nolensville Pike.

The chainsaw, valued at $1,300, was verified by serial number as one of the three stolen from the worksite. A warrant was then issued for the arrest of Robert Russell.

On October 11th, Robert Russell was arrested and charged with theft of property valued over $1,000. He was later freed on pretrial release.
