Scorched tent leads to Dollar General showdown

33-year-old Cesar Melendez-Ramos was charged with aggravated assault after he brandished a firearm and piece of wood and forced a man to the ground and threatened his life because he was angry about his tent burning down.

On October 14th, Garrett Nail was outside of Dollar General at 3776 Nolensville Pike when he was confronted by Cesar Melendez, who was carrying a firearm and a big piece of wood. Garrett claimed Melendez was upset because someone burned his tent down.

He yelled at Garrett to get on the ground and threatened to kill him. Fearing for his life, Garrett smacked him with a pole. The two got into a physical fight until Garrett was able to escape. The Dollar General cameras captured the entire event.

Cesar Melendez was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
